Artist in Residence at Wadhurst Park Estate, 2019
This will be my largest project to date - at 12 metres long! I am so happy that Wadhurst Park Estate have asked me to paint a mural of native Wealden flora and fauna for them. The estate is managed for conservation, with a huge effort underway to restore lost woods and ponds. Over the course of a year I will be painting from life as much as possible, foraging for different plants as they come into season. SBA Open 2019
This year the Society of Botanical Artists Open Exhibition will be at the Mall Galleries, London, from 4-9th June. I will be showing two of my roadverge inspired pieces painted on roadsigns, including Clacket Lane Bouquet (above). The show promises a bumper crop of plant-inspired art, anything from jewellery and glass to botanical studies and prints.
Roadverge paintings at Watts Contemporary Gallery, Summer 2018
I am delighted that Watts Contemporary Gallery, Surrey, has embraced my Verge project.
Three of my verge paintings are included in their summer show Florabundance.
Watts Contemporary Gallery is part of the Watts Gallery Artists' Village in Compton, Surrey, just outside of Guildford. The show is on now until 7th October, open every day except Mondays.
It makes a good day out with children's art activities and woods to explore as well as the Watts art collection, studio and amazing chapel. Entry to Florabundance, the tea shop and chapel is free; there's an entry fee for the Watts art collection and artist's studio.
All work in Florabundance is for sale and proceeds support the aim of Watts Gallery to make art accessible for all.
SBA Open 2017
My second roadverge painting A21 Lay-by (Goat's Rue and Bramble) was exhibited in the Society of Botanical Artists Open Exhibition in Westminster Central Hall, London, during October 2017.
